On Friday 2/26/2021, Auburn School Board announced the hiring of Keith Etheredge from Oxford as the new head football coach at Auburn High School. Coach Etheredge comes to 7A Auburn from a 6A Oxford with 15 years of head coach experience. Coach Etheredge has had 150 wins and five state championships during his coaching career.
Etheredge was at Oxford for the last 2 years where he had a 25-3 record and a Class 6A state championship.
Etheredge replaces Adam Winegarden, who has moved on to Tuscaloosa County after six years as head coach at Auburn High School.
